NAVMAN: GPS EXPANSION

GPS EXPANSION

On the basis of SiRFstarIV technology NAVMAN has now launched three versions of its familiar J-F2 GPS module which essentially differ in terms of their memory design and therefore in price. All the modules have a continuous “hot start” in common, in other words they identify their position within one second with a power consumption of just 50uA to 500uA. This is made possible by their SiRFaware™ mode or by an A-GPS on the basis of a 3-day ephemeris advance calculation in the module itself (CGEE = Client Generated Extended Ephemeris). The receivers can navigate to -160dBm and track to -163dBm, providing higher coverage, accuracy and availability than all previous NAVMAN GPS modules.
The SiRFstarIV™ sensor interface supports smart sensors (acceleration, movement, compass and future MEMS sensors). The “Active Jammer Remover” available exclusively from NAVMAN can detect and remove up to eight in-band interference signals of up to 80dB-Hz (high frequency signals in the frequency band, such as clock frequencies and their harmonics or signals from mobile phone systems, etc.) even before the correlation process takes place. Their low energy consumption and high sensitivity make these GPS modules ideal for vehicle and object tracking and for miniature personal navigation and localization devices.
