The new TOREX blocks in the XC9244/XC9245 series have an internal 0.65Ω P channel transistor and a 0.45Ohm N channel transistor. Only an external coil and two small capacitors are required to operate them with an output current of up to 400mA. The XC9244 is a PWM fixed frequency control and the XC9245 is PWM/PFM which switches between PWM and PFM automatically. This allows a highly efficient converter with low ripple voltage to be built. The small USPN 6 housing means that the converter also features small dimensions.
