TRIDONIC ATCO: THE 2009 FOOTBALL TOURNAMEN REVIVAL

After a longer pause from football competitions, CODICO was once again invited to Dornbirn, Austria, to participate in this year’s sports challenge. A squad was formed quickly enough, though no one could have yet known what a true “dream team” it would prove to be. Full of football enthusiasm and a will to win, our 7 chosen athletes headed off to Dornbirn on their mission impossible, together with their coach and the CODICO cheerleaders.
After arriving late at night, several of our kickers still found time to enjoy a Schnitzel and a beer or two. The next morning, our team was more than ready to chase the leather despite the lack of sunshine. With a few butterflies in our stomachs, but lots of smiles on our faces, all of us who made the trip headed to the football pitch for a rather rainy day of sports action and team unity. Just before the whistle to start the first match, our small but mighty team decided on the positions – just in time to face the TRIDONIC apprentice team, who would go on to win the group. In this and all ensuing matches, our team members showed that they were all cut from the same cloth, as the players supported each other to the very end while fighting all out for every ball. At each match, our two CODICO girls fired the team on with their cheers and good advice, while the coach (Thomas Jell) had only words of praise for the boys after they had given their all. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get the team on the podium by the tournament’s end. Still, the most important goal for the weekend had been met: namely, to have lots of fun while playing and celebrating together.
At this point, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to TRIDONIC ATCO for organizing such a wonderful tournament. We also thank all those who made our participation at the event possible.
