One requirement for ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of mobile applications is a wide input voltage range. MURATA_PS’ NDW3 DC converters were designed exactly for this purpose, as they accept 12VDC, 24VDC, 36VDC or 48VDC battery supply systems in a single module thanks to the 7:1 ratio input of 9VDC to 60VDC and an efficiency of 80%. The first available model delivers a 12V output voltage with a typical regulation deviation of 0.03% for changes to the input voltage and 0.05% for load changes, with operating current ranging from 62mA to 250mA. No-load current on the input side is 0.8mA. The insulation resistance between the output and input terminals is tested to 100% of 1kVDC for 1 second during production. The NDW3 series is encapsulated and comes with a metal case for EMC shielding. The devices take up an area of 25mm x 32mm on the PCB and offer the standard pinout for 1” x 1” modules. The temperature rise above ambient for the case surface is specified at +16°K at full load.
