Together with our manufacturer, WISECHIP, a worldwide market leader in passive matrix OLED technologies, we wish to introduce you to the new 16x2 and 20x2 character modules available in COG and PCB versions. As in the past, the new products are 1:1 compatible with popular LCD and VFD character modules and thus serve as direct replacements. The key novelties in this segment include a choice of five different colors compared to the previous white and yellow, as well as the option of selecting a PCB version instead of previously only COG.

The accompanying table shows a comparison of the different colors. Yellow and green still have the longest operating life (time to half brightness), but other variants – such as blue – have come a long way from the original 20,000 hours.

Another product launch in the character OLED segment is planned for the third quarter of this year. The 20x4 module will augment the existing portfolio of character solutions.
