MINDSPEED introduces the M21165, a non-blocking crosspoint switch with 160 in- and 160 outputs. The M21165 operates at data rates up to 6.5Gbps and features a relatively low power consumption. It is suitable for a broad range of applications like telecom, datacom and video broadcast. The I/Os can be configured to switch each channel as individual lanes (lane mode) or in a group of 4 channels (group mode) with low intra-channel skew. Signal conditioning features include input equalization and output pre-emphasis, configurable per-lane basis and optimized for PCB trace. The M21165 is packaged in a 45 mm, 1936 ball TEPBGA housing.
