NAVMAN’S LARGE JUPITER

Jupiter 31 and Dead Reckoning. Jupiter 31 GPS receiver modules are based on the 20-channel high sensitivity SiRFStarIII architecture. Their design has been optimized for fastest possible time to first fix, exceptional sensitivity and lowest possible power consumption. The modules support assisted GPS thanks to SiRF InstantFix and Ephemeris Push services. In addition, they offer a high degree of noise rejection for ease of integration in applications that use multiple wireless technologies.
The Jupiter 31DR also features dead reckoning functionality that is directly coupled with GPS. For this function, the module automatically calibrates the signal from an analog “gyroscope system” and the speed signal from the tachometer. As a result, the device is able to provide a virtually instantaneous position determination and near to 100% coverage, even in urban canyons, tunnels or parking garages. This in turn makes the modules predestined for use in truck toll systems, tracking applications, omnibus systems and geo-mapping applications. With the Jupiter 30DR, an ultra-compact GPS/DR module measuring a mere 25.4mm x 25.4mm is also available.
