NXP - READY FOR PRIME TIME!

New DVB-S2 Front-End Solutions from NXP:

DVB-S2 Dual Channel Tuner: TDA20136
The new TDA20136 integrates a dual 8PSK satellite tuner and upstream pre-tuner function to enable a variety of different installation scenarios without requiring changes to the hardware. It thus gives users a choice of supplying each of the two integrated tuners with two separate antenna signals or just one. In addition, two antenna signals can be outputted to two extra tuners via the internal splitter. Not only has the TDA20136 been optimized for low-power applications, but it also integrates numerous key features: e.g., low noise amplifiers (LNAs), voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs), clock generators and filters. As a result, this new IC is currently the most highly integrated DVB-S2 tuner available on the market. Measuring a mere 7mm x 7mm in surface area, the TDA20136 is the ideal solution for set-top box manufacturers. XXXX High-volume production quantities are scheduled to be available for worldwide shipping starting in September 2009.

DVB-S2 Single Channel Demodulator: TDA10071
The TDA10071 is a third-generation 8PSK satellite demodulator in a 64-pin ELQFP package that was designed as a cost-effective solution for low-power applications. The integrated microcontroller features an automatic-acquisition algorithm to search for signals within a
+/- 10MHz range during the initialization phase. In addition, it independently corrects to the strongest receive frequency during normal operation. To simplify development and production testing, receive quality can be measured via the integrated SNR and BER monitors. The Blind Scan function permits FTA customers to automatically scan for available FTA satellite programming.

Overview of Features:
- Ultra low-power design with a sleep mode
- Integrated microcontroller
- Blind Scan function for Free-to-Air (FTA) programming

DVB-S2 Dual Channel Demodulator: TDA10074
The TDA10074 is the bigger sibling of the TDA10071. Instead of only one, it integrates two DVB-S2 demodulators in parallel for the fully independent processing of 2 video streams.   The TDA10074 is designed to operate in perfect harmony with both the CX24132 and TDA20136 dual DVB-S2 tuners. The demodulator’s technical characteristics are virtually identical to those of the TDA10071.
