TYCO ELECTRONICS has introduced a new series of metal oxide resistors designed for use in circuits that demand high performance and reliability under adverse environmental conditions.
The new metal oxide resistors from TYCO ELECTRONICS are highly stable and reliable, at the same time providing high power capability in a very compact package. Designated the RR, the new series offers the ideal solution for pulse applications in adverse environmental conditions. The resistors are available in three different sizes, with power ratings of 1W, 2W and 3W for rated voltages of 350V to 750V. The highly temperature resistant devices also come in a wide range of resistance values from 0.22Ω to 1MΩ.
The RR series is offered in a variety of package and lead styles, and the different versions are optimized for such diverse applications as power supplies, amplifiers, household appliances and lighting ballasts. The resistors also feature defined interruption behavior (fusing time).
Manufactured by vacuum depositing a metal alloy film onto a high-grade ceramic body, the new metal oxide resistors are then coated with a non-flammable lacquer that provides mechanical, electrical and climatic protection. The coating is resistant to all cleaning solvents in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 215, and IEC 60068-2-45. RR series resistors ship in a choice of ammo-packed box or tape and reel packaging.
