MINDSPEED is a leading supplier of complete solutions (hardware and software) for converting voice into data packets (Voice over IP – or VoIP).

With a total of 8 product families and 50 systems on a chip (SoCs), MINDSPEED currently offers solutions ranging from 2 to 672 G.711 channels. These support all popular wirebound and wireless codecs: e.g., G.711, G.7xx, T.38, AMR, SMV, etc. As one might expect, these solutions support many extra features and functionalities, such as adaptive jitter buffering, 128ms echo canceling i.a.w. G.168-2002/4, DFEC, EPCD and encryption via DES, 3DES and AES. With respect to the primary differences between individual Comcerto families, these extend to the design technology used, the degree of integration (to mean the number of processors and DSPs on a given SoC), and the diverse interfaces supported.

The above mentioned product families are also exceptionally suited for fiber CPEs, cable CPEs, wireless LAN and/or Wi-FI access points, as well as future router CPEs with higher performance requirements (e.g., OSGI). In such applications, they support a routing performance of up to 1 Gbit/s in each direction for simultaneous transmit and receive (WAN-LAN throughput).
