Back in January 2011 QUALCOMM bought and integrated Atheros Communications. Atheros, now a subsidiary of QUALCOMM Inc., was a developer of semiconductors for network communications, particularly wireless chipsets. Founded in 1998 by experts in signal processing from Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley and the private industry, the company was one of the first in the world to integrate 5 GHz WiFi into a CMOS process. Within 8 years the company became almost a 1 billion $ company.


In late 2009 Atheros acquired Intellon Corporation - a public company with powerline communication (PLC) solutions for home networking, networked entertainment, broadband-over-powerline (BPL) access, Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC), and smart grid management applications.


Since the beginning of 2009 CODICO successfully worked with Intellon and continued it´s relationship through the acquisitions. CODICO became distributor of Atheros and later of QUALCOMM Atheros.

CODICO only is distributor for the former Atheros products. QUALCOMM´s GSM/GPRS/3G/UMTS/LTE products as well as their Snapdragon processor family are not distributed by CODICO.
