QUALCOMM Inc. is an American global semiconductor company that designs and markets wireless telecommunications products and services. The company headquarters are located in San Diego, California, United States. The company has 157 worldwide locations.
The parent company is QUALCOMM Incorporated (Qualcomm), which includes the QUALCOMM Technology Licensing Division (QTL). Qualcomm's wholly owned subsidiary, QUALCOMM Technologies, Inc. (QTI), operates substantially all of QUALCOMM's R&D activities, as well as its product and services businesses, including its semiconductor business, QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies. In 2014 QUALCOMM Inc. made revenue of 26.5 billion US$ and with that was number 4 behind Intel, Samsung and TSMC in the worldwide semiconductor supplier ranking. The company is fabless. In 2014 QUALCOMM Inc. had about 31,000 employees.
Back in January 2011 QUALCOMM bought and integrated Atheros Communications. Atheros, now a subsidiary of QUALCOMM Inc., was a developer of semiconductors for network communications, particularly wireless chipsets. Founded in 1998 by experts in signal processing from Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley and the private industry, the company was one of the first in the world to integrate 5 GHz WiFi into a CMOS process. Within 8 years the company became almost a 1 billion $ company.
In late 2009 Atheros acquired Intellon Corporation - a public company with powerline communication (PLC) solutions for home networking, networked entertainment, broadband-over-powerline (BPL) access, Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC), and smart grid management applications.
Since the beginning of 2009 CODICO successfully worked with Intellon and continued it´s relationship through the acquisitions. CODICO became distributor of Atheros and later of QUALCOMM Atheros.
CODICO only is distributor for the former Atheros products. QUALCOMM´s GSM/GPRS/3G/UMTS/LTE products as well as their Snapdragon processor family are not distributed by CODICO.
CODICO distribution agreement includes the following product families:
- Powerline communication
- Fast and Gigabit Ethernet switches and PHYs
No matter which interface (USB, PCIe, SDIO, SPI, UART, etc.), standard (802.11a/ac/b/g/n), Single/Dual Band or MIMO (up to 4x4 including MU MIMO) technology you are looking for, as a leading manufacturer QUALCOMM Atheros provides the right solution for any application. As partner of QUALCOMM Atheros for many years CODICO is happy to advise you in the proper selection and to assist you throughout the entire development with technical expertise aside.

Fast and Gigabit Ethernet Switch and PHY Products
The grandfather of networking technologies is alive and kicking.
QUALCOMM® networking platforms include Ethernet technology that is optimized for the most demanding media applications that people are using at home and work. Our Ethernet chips are also among the industry’s smallest and most power efficient, which leads to smaller networking products that are more cost-effective to build and use.
Designed to deliver Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet performance to a wide variety of consumer electronics and networking gear. Use unique power-saving techniques to reduce system power by up to 80%. Meet or exceed the IEEE 802.3az-2010 Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard and maximize design flexibility and cost-effectiveness of with a 40 percent smaller footprint.
