Emerson Embedded Power’s two intelligent power supply families, the iMP and iVS, offer digital control for real-time management of modular-built systems. Thus, the software-based configuration of your power supply solution, tailored to meet your specific needs and delivering a total output power of 500W to 5,000W, is indeed possible!

Based on the many years of experience in development and manufacturing formerly contributed by ASTEC and ARTESYN, and thanks to a new digital technology, EMERSON is today establishing the by far broadest and most complete range of standard power supplies offering a configurable, modular design and I²C bus. The two product families include a wide range of output modules, with individual outputs from 200W to 750W, as well as 1500W, available. Equally suitable for integration are modules with multiple outputs (from 36W to 150W), which deliver a total output power of 750W to 1500W for iMP-based versions and up to 5,000W for iVS-based versions. EMERSON emphasized robustness in developing these modules, whose design meets the stringent requirements of medical and industrial automation applications. The devices thus conform to the EMC limits set forth in EN5502 Class B, and to IEC60601 / IEC60950 safety specifications in accordance with UL, CSA, VDE, BABT, CB and CE.

For preselection of the base hardware platform, the iMP input stages are available in a length of 254mm to 270mm, a width of 127mm to 203mm and a height of 64mm. At 127mm, the iVS series base platform is twice as high, with a length of 280mm and two available widths: 127mm and 203mm. Thanks to the large fan diameter, fan noise is kept to a minimum. The input voltage range is 85VAC - 264VAC at 47Hz - 440Hz, and 120VDC - 350VDC. An additional version is offered for the iVS series and is supplied via 3VAC x 380VAC. A power hold-up module is also offered to extend hold-up time by 34ms for compliance with the SEMI 47 standard.

Software control permits setting the fan rotation speed and airflow direction, as well as temperature readouts, warnings and shutdown. In addition, setting of the current limiting values per output module, adjustment of the output voltage (with overvoltage protection) and programmable OCP are all supported, while it is also possible to set the systematic sequencing for power supply start-up and shut-down.

What’s more, a non-overwritable memory device is provided for storing and reading out important device data, such as the serial number, data code, operating hours, etc.
