5A synchronous step-down converter for high power applications
The MP4470 is optimized for high power densities where minimal space is available. Very high efficiencies over the entire range of currents make this component the ideal partner for 'point-of-load' use.
The MP4470 operates according to the COT principle (adaptive constant on time) and thus permits very rapid response to load changes, while offering excellent line and load regulation.
The IC can convert input voltages of 12V, 24V or 36V to 3.3V, for example, depending on the output current of between 85% and 95%.
A compact 3mm x 4mm QFN package, integrated MOSFETs, integrated diode and a typical coil size of 10uH result in a very compact solution for an output current of up to 5A.
The component is also offered with an extended temperature specification as an AEC-Q100 automotive qualified version (1.Q.2013).
