In Japanese mythology, Okami, the white wolf, is the only one able to conquer the lynx.

Now, however, the new Okami series of highly efficient power conversion modules in the 3A to 5A range is fighting for a new era of outstanding price-performance characteristics. To do so, it is taking on all older topologies of non-insulated DC/DC modules, which have a voracious appetite for current.

The compact Okami SMD mountable step-down converters have a wide 12V input range, and soon will also offer a 24VDC nominal range. They deliver a choice of 3A or 5A at a capacitive load compatibility of 1000uF/(3000uF), with an adjustable output voltage between 0.7VDC and 5.5VDC. The modules operate at ambient temperatures of up to +85°C without a cooling fan and without derating, while efficiency is typically above 91.5% min. and reaches 93% for the 3.3VDC setup. The pinout corresponds to the P78 industrial standard according to DOSA, which helps achieve manufacturer independence to ensure security of supply. A remote on/off contact for time-interval on/off switching (sequencing) is, of course, also provided. Electromagnetic compatibility meets FCC-15 / B and EN55022 / B, and design notes are also available to help you further. Operational safety is assured via undervoltage, short-circuit, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and through safety testing to meet UL/EN/IEC-60950-1.
