Combo modules Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combined on one module

The abbreviation “Combo” is derived from the word “combination”, and with regard to Wi-Fi modules it is understood to mean the combination of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, in other words the implementation of two wireless standards in one module.

As with all other Wi-Fi modules, there are a wide range of different formats involved with regard to interfaces, form factors, and standards which are supported.

CODICO offers PCI-Express mini-cards in the “Half Size” card format, with dimensions of 30 mm × 26.80 mm, which support the Wi-Fi standards 802.11bgn (single band) and 802.11abgn (dual band) in combination with Bluetooth 4.0. On the target hardware, in accordance with the specification PCIe 1.2, a 52-pin plug connection is required.

All the modules come with CE, FCC and IC certifications, and are supported by Windows and Linux. If the aim is to have a more industrially suited version, we also have Combo modules in the range which can be addressed via a serial interface. In this situation, the entire protocol handling takes place in the module itself, which means that simply only the data needs to be provided via the serial interface.
