BG95/BG77 Modules as an Alternative to the BG96
The BG95 and BG77 LPWAN modules from QUECTEL are designed as compatible products.
The BG95 has the same footprint as the BG96 multi-mode NB-IoT module. Like the BG96, the BG95 also offers Cat. NB1/2 (Rel 14), M1 and 2G, as well as integrated GNSS.
The BG77 is an ultra-compact version of the BG95 in a 14x15mm housing with similar features (but without 2G). Due to its small size, the BG77 enables the development of devices with a much smaller form factor.

Both modules are based on the QUALCOMM MDM9205 chipset. The BG95 relies on an internal ARM Cortex A7 processor, which can also directly be used for applications via ThreadX. Furthermore, the BG95 has several hardware-implemented security features such as Secure Boot, Debug and File System.
It supports ThreadX and offers sufficient Flash and RAM. With QuecOpen as OS, the application µC can be saved for many operations.
The BG95 is available with various combinations of the different communication modes. Thus, an application currently based on the BG96 can be transferred to the BG95. A smooth change is also possible on the software side.
