Embedded Wi-Fi Module Jalapeno From 8DEVICES
For Linux Based Applications
The new Wi-Fi module Jalapeno from 8DEVICES supports DBDC (Dual Band Dual Concurrency) 802.11a/b/g/n/ac in MU MIMO 2x2 and provides 2x1000 Base-T and USB 3.0 high-speed interfaces for high performance IoT-Hubs, Gateways, Routers und Access Points.
Jalapeno is based on the new SoC IPQ-4018 from Qualcomm, which provides the special capability of serving two frequency bands 2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same time. This results in a maximum antenna data rate of 1.166Gbps; 866Mbps for 11ac 2x2 @ 5GHz and 300Mbps for 11n 2x2 @ 2.4GHz.
To process the high data throughput, two Cortex-A7 CPUs are available as network- and two more are available as application-processors. All 4 CPUs are running at 700MHz clock rate. Also the memory configuration of 256MB DDR3 @ 667MHz, 128MB NAND and 8MB NOR FLASH will meet your hardest requirements.
