New Polymer Capacitors From PANASONIC
Advantages of Aluminum-Polymer Capacitors
Although there is a growing demand by the automotive market for polymer-hybrid capacitors pure polymer caps are thanks to their properties still in focus for industrial applications. PANASONIC Industry is continuously working on developing new series of can type aluminum polymer capacitors “OS-CON”.
The big advantage of AL-polymer capacitors is their very high ripple current capability at staying relatively compact in terms of dimensions. Compared to AL-electrolytic and hybrid caps, only lower capacitance values per voltage and case size are achievable with this technology. Since voltage is also limited in many cases, PANASONIC Industry focuses on developing more capacitance per case size and higher voltage.
