KEMET, a leading manufacturer in the film capacitor market, has expanded its range and diversity of EMI suppression capacitors, with a specific emphasis on THB versions designed for challenging environmental conditions and high voltages. The latest update from KEMET concerns to X1 and Y1 capacitors.

Solution for Cross-Line Applications

Featuring a rated voltage of 600Vac/1200Vdc and a THB grade IIIB, the R58 series represents KEMET's latest offering in X1 capacitors. This series stands out as an optimal solution for across-the-line applications where X1 capacitors operate at elevated voltages and currents in harsh environments. Applications include, but are not limited to, energy storage, inverters, and general industrial settings where high reliability and current capacity are imperative. Moreover, the R58 finds utility in automotive applications such as HVDC EMI filters, where voltages exceeding 800VDC are a requirement.

X1 Capacitors

  • High rated voltage 600VAC/1,200VDC

  • Harsh environment capability: THB IIIB according to IEC 60384-14 (85°C | 85% R.H. | 1,000h at both rated AC and DC voltages
  • Automotive (AEC-Q200) grade
  • Capacitance Range: 10nF ~ 8.2μF

With the new R4Y-series KEMET introduced a Y1 metallised polypropylene film capacitor capable of reaching extended performance for the first time. It can be widely used in automotive, EV charging stations and general industrial applications where Y1 class safety is needed in a harsh environment.

  • Harsh environment capability: THB IIB according to IEC 60384-14 (85°C | 85% R.H. | 500h at rated AC voltage)
  • Long life time at high temperatures (85°C 100,000h / 125°C 2,000h at rated VAC)
  • Automotive (AEC-Q200) grade
  • Miniaturised dimension and wide capacitance range (470pF ~ 33nF)
  • Rated AC voltage: 500VAC / max. 750VAC 1,000h at 125°C
  • Recommended DC voltage: 1,500VDC / max. 3,000VDC 1,000h at 85°C
