Advantages of MEMS Microphones

The market for MEMS microphones has grown rapidly in recent years. MEMS microphones are mainly used in mobile phones, laptops, headphones, digital speech assistants, cameras, robots and in the automotive industry.

MEMS microphones offer many advantages compared to conventional electret condenser microphones (ECM). Firstly, they are much smaller and can be automatically assembled during the reflow soldering process. Secondly, by adjusting amplitude and phase, they can be connected together to form an array, which results in better audio signal processing. Modern methods such as beamforming become possible. MEMS microphones are also robust against high temperatures and achieve high signal noise values. Together with our technology partner KNOWLES, we can offer a wide range of different MEMS for various applications.
