Technologies
ARDUINO enables engineers, developers, and organizations to interact with the physical world by simplifying access to complex embedded and IoT technologies.
They achieve this through three main pillars:
- Open-Source Hardware: ARDUINO designs circuit boards (microcontroller-based and SoC-based platforms) and releases the schematics for free. This allows anyone to build their own version or buy affordable pre-made boards like the Arduino Uno Q board. This openness enables rapid prototyping, customization, and a transparent transition from prototype to production.
- Accessible Software: ARDUINO provides intuitive development environments such as the Arduino IDE and Arduino App Lab. These platforms support C++ and Python-based workflows while abstracting low-level hardware complexity, allowing developers to focus on application functionality rather than register-level programming.
- The Ecosystem: ARDUINO isn't just a board, it’s a massive library of pre-written code and a community of millions who share tutorials, provide advice, making it possible for a beginner to build a complex robot or a smart-home device in a single afternoon.
Typical Applications
ARDUINO is increasingly focused on professional and industrial markets, addressing applications such as machine vision, edge AI processing, real-time control, industrial sensing, robotics, and smart connected devices.
Strategic Direction
In late 2025, ARDUINO reached a major milestone with its acquisition by Qualcomm, marking a strategic shift toward professional engineering, advanced industrial systems, and AI-integrated applications – while maintaining its strong open-source foundation.
The first professional-grade platform resulting from this strategy is the Arduino Uno-Q, based on the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QRB2210 processor, combining edge AI acceleration, computer vision, and real-time processing in a compact, developer-friendly form factor.
CODICO as Distributor of ARDUINO
CODICO is the official distributor of ARDUINO and supports customers throughout the entire design-in process, from component selection and system architecture to production-ready solutions. Leveraging more than six years of Qualcomm Dragonwing design-in experience, CODICO enables rapid and reliable implementation of ARDUINO professional platforms in industrial applications.
