The PAW3902 from PIXART is an optical sensor with an extreme wide working range. The lens (L214-ZSZ) has a focus range from 80mm to infinity and needs no calibration.

The integrated function writes the moving x and y coordinate as well as the frame capture data into an internal register that can be read out via an SPI interface.

  • Power Consumption/Shutdown: 6mA/12µA
  • Interface: 4 wire SPI @ 2Mhz

Target applications:

  • Devices that require far-field motion detection and hovering stabilities, under bright and low light ambient conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor X-Y positioning especially in GPS denied environments
