Higher Capacitance with Hybrid Capacitor Series CJV and CHV

High Temperature Resistance of up to 135°C

RUBYCON is expanding its portfolio of hybrid capacitors with the new CJV and CHV series. These product lines combine high temperature resistance of up to 125°C and 135°C respectively with a lifetime of 4,000 hours, while offering significantly higher capacitance than the previous PJV and PHV series – at a more competitive price level.

Hybrid Capacitors Continue to Gain Importance

Conductive Polymer Hybrid Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, commonly referred to as hybrid capacitors, have become indispensable, particularly in automotive applications. As xEV and ADAS systems continue to evolve, the demand for compact, high-performance and reliable electronic solutions is steadily increasing. Demand for hybrid capacitors is also growing in industrial equipment and household appliances. Key drivers include increasing requirements for energy efficiency, compact PCB designs and high long-term reliability. At the same time, alongside technical performance, competitive pricing is becoming an increasingly important factor.

New Series as a Cost-Optimized Alternative

The widely used PJV (125°C/4,000h) and PHV (135°C/4,000h) series were introduced during the early stages of the hybrid capacitor market and have since become well established in numerous applications. With the new CJV and CHV series, RUBYCON now introduces a cost-optimized alternative. Compared to the previous PJV and PHV series, the new product lines provide up to 50% higher capacitance, depending on case size. At the same time, users benefit from more competitive pricing.

Expanded Portfolio for 80V Applications

In addition, the portfolio has been expanded to include versions rated up to 80V. With this extension, RUBYCON addresses the growing demand for capacitors designed for higher-voltage applications, particularly in the automotive and industrial sectors.

What Future Expansions are Planned for RUBYCON’s CJV and CHV Hybrid Capacitor Series?

RUBYCON plans to further expand the CJV and CHV hybrid capacitor series with larger case sizes, including ⌀10×12.5mm and ⌀10×16.5mm versions, as well as higher allowable ripple current specifications. Sample production for these case sizes is planned for August 2026, while mass production is expected to begin in 2027.
