5G RedCap and 5G NR Modules by CAVLI WIRELESS for IoT
Scalable Connectivity for Smart Systems
CAVLI WIRELESS has expanded its range of cellular connectivity solutions with two powerful wireless modules. The new CQM220 is the company's first 5G RedCap module, specifically designed for energy-efficient, battery-powered devices. For applications requiring maximum data rates and high throughput, CAVLI WIRELESS also offers the CQM211 5G NR module. Both modules support modern 5G networks, integrate powerful processors, and enable application development without the need for an additional host MCU.

The CQM220 is a 5G RedCap IoT module compliant with 3GPP Release 17 and designed specifically for IoT and M2M applications. RedCap (Reduced Capability) simplifies the complexity of the 5G standard, resulting in significantly lower power consumption. Devices require fewer antennas and can operate on narrower bandwidths, making the technology particularly attractive for battery-powered applications.
High Data Rates and Integrated Application Development
The module delivers data rates of up to 220Mbps downlink and 120Mbps uplink and is available in both LGA and M.2 form factors. Optional integrated GNSS support enables location-based applications. Thanks to the OpenWrt-based OpenSDK, developers can create applications directly on the module without the need for an external host MCU. Typical use cases include asset tracking, vehicle telemetry, and Industry 4.0 applications.
Which 5G module is suitable for applications with maximum demands on data rate and network performance?
For applications demanding maximum data rates and network performance, CAVLI WIRELESS offers the CQM211 5G NR Advanced Sub-6GHz module. Compliant with 3GPP Release 16, the module has been developed for advanced IoT and M2M applications.
The CQM211 supports download speeds of up to 3.4Gbps and upload speeds of up to 550Mbps. To ensure reliable connectivity across different network environments, it also supports LTE Cat 16 as a fallback technology. An integrated Arm Cortex-A7 processor with up to 1GB RAM and 512MB ROM enables Linux/OpenWrt operation and application development without requiring an external host MCU. In addition, the module features integrated GNSS with L1 and L5 support for highly accurate positioning. With global variants available and a compact LGA form factor, the CQM211 is ideally suited for Industry 4.0 solutions, intelligent surveillance systems, and other high-bandwidth applications.
