Robotic Technology to Support Human Workers
One of our eight highlights awaits you @ embedded 2023. CODICO introduces »Lucki«, an AI Delivery Service Robot that co-operates safely with humans.
Meet our product specialist Thomas Carmody @ booth 211 in Hall 3A and learn more about autonomous robotics.
Lucki, the AI Delivery Service Robot
In Europe, the need for robotic systems to support human workers in retail, factories and warehouses has become acute in recent years, due to an ageing workforce and intense competition. With the improvement and advancement of robotic technology, it is now practical and cost-effective to use these machines safely in a range of settings.
The AI Delivery Service Robot »Lucki« from Orion Star has been co-developed by Orion Star and our partner THUNDERCOMM,
a QUALCOMM joint venture company. The robot leverages the latest Robotics SoC, camera, cellular and wireless connectivity technologies from QUALCOMM. The Robot is capable of operating in a pre-defined area for up to 15 hours continously using a combination of computer vision, AI, SLAM and Radar technologies to safely navigate and co-operate with humans to deliver hospitality services to customers.
Made of aluminium, the robot is 1.3 metres high, moves at a speed of up to 1.2 metres per second and has a total loading capacity of 40 kg. The robot offers intuitive voice and visual interaction, as well as a touchscreen user interface that allows users to quickly place food and beverage orders, make reservations and interact with the retail shop without the need for a human operator, allowing hospitality workers to take care of the more complex and demanding tasks.
