Unique Design “One Room Package”
The DSB1612SLD and DSB211SLD TCXOs feature a “One Room Package”, in which the crystal blank and IC are housed together in a single chamber. In contrast, many competitors use an H-shaped dual-chamber structure that separates the crystal and the IC. In this design, the crystal is hermetically sealed, but the IC is only encapsulated in resin and not fully sealed. This dual-chamber structure results in a higher MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) rating of 2 or higher, requiring storage in moisture-proof bags with desiccant. The KDS TCXOs, however, benefit from their single-chamber construction with MSL 1, eliminating the need for special moisture control.
