High-Accuracy Digital Magnetic Angle Sensor MA600

The MA600 offers support for a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations.

Configurable Angle-Sensor With High-Bandwidth by MPS

MPS introduces the MA600, a cutting-edge magnetic angle sensor renowned for its precision and high bandwidth. Designed to capture the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet, typically a diametrically magnetised cylinder on a rotating shaft, the MA600 is equipped with an integrated precision tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) sensor. This integration enables the MA600 to achieve remarkable bandwidth and accuracy (INL), establishing it as an optimal solution for applications in position control and robotics.

Versatility & System Calibration

Versatility is a key feature of the MA600, supporting a broad range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. The sensor accommodates both end-of-shaft (on-axis) and side-shaft (off-axis) mounting configurations.

On-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) provides storage for configuration parameters, including the reference zero-angle position, ABZ/UVW/PWM settings.

The MA600 is factory-calibrated to achieve an error (INL) below 0.6° across its operating temperature range. Furthermore, users have the option to perform a final system calibration using a 32-point user-configurable correction table. Post-user calibration, the resulting error (INL) can be reduced to less than 0.1°.

Communication with the MA600 is facilitated through the serial peripheral interface (SPI) and synchronous serial interface (SSI).

This advanced sensor is conveniently available in a compact QFN-16 (3x3mm) package.
