THINKING Electronic Industrial Co., Ltd. introduces a new series of ceramic PTC thermistors designed for high-voltage applications. The PPL25 series has been specifically developed for demanding circuits with high system voltages and is rated for operating voltages of up to 1,000VDC. It features high energy absorption capability, large thermal capacity, and optimally tuned Curie temperatures.

What is a PTC Thermistor?

A PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor is a component whose resistance increases with rising temperature. Depending on the application, PTC thermistors are used for inrush current limiting, overcurrent protection, or pre-charge/discharge circuits. With the new PPL25 Series, Thinking extends these characteristics to high-voltage environments, enabling safer and more compact circuit designs.

  • Rated voltage up to 1,000 VDC, ideal for high-voltage circuits
  • High energy absorption (non-operating energy at 60°C: approx. 372-992J)
  • Large heat capacity (~6.2J/K) ensuring stable temperature behavior
  • Optimized Curie temperature range: approx. 120°C-220°C
  • Wide resistance range at 25 °C: from approx. 250Ω-2kΩ
  • Reliable performance even under elevated ambient temperatures
