The new 600VDC Inductor Series

Non-isolated HV Buck/Buck-Boost Converters are getting more and more popular. Smart LED Drivers and Home Appliances with mechanical protection against human contact to dangerous voltages do not require a galvanic separation. For these converters one of the critical components is the used storage choke, which needs to withstand the high voltages and needs a rating of at least 400VDC. Most standard inductors face their limits below 100VDC already, which leads to a narrow component selection.

SAGAMI’s recently launched CHVR1277 series comes in a 12x12x8mm SMD package and an inductance range from 150µH to 1.4mH. The inductor design meets the mandatory clearance requirements (Pin to Pin) as well as the isolation between the windings. That way, the CHVR1277 series can withstand up to 600VDC and thus is perfectly suited for the above-mentioned tasks.
