New Single Chip USB-C to HDMI 2.1 Video Interface

Transfer of 8K and 10K Resolutions
SYNAPTICS have recently released VMM7100, a new single chip USB-C to HDMI 2.1 video interface. This new chip allows the transfer of 8k and 10k resolutions from notebooks to corresponding monitors. With a power consumption of less than 400mW at 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 60fps, it is able to efficiently connect ultra-wide VRR displays to PCs, tablets, mobile phones, and gaming consoles over USB-C interfaces.

Powering 4K displays at 60 fps draws less than 400mW and less than 600mW on 8K displays

High-bandwidth deep color video coupled with dynamic HDR content transport, including Dolby Vision®, HDR10+ and variable frame rate modes
