Wi-Fi HaLow operates in the license-free Sub-GHz band (850–950MHz) and enables wireless ranges of up to 1 kilometer, while maintaining very low power consumption. The 4108E-S fully complies with the IEEE 802.11ah standard and supports data rates of up to 32.5Mbps in the license-free Sub-1-GHz band – with a typical range of 1 kilometer. At the heart of the module is the MM6108 radio chip from Morse Micro, a leading supplier of Wi-Fi HaLow ICs.
Integrated Features for Optimal Signal Quality
For maximum performance, the module integrates:
- High-power Power Amplifier (PA) for extended range
- High-linearity Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for enhanced sensitivity
- Integrated T/R switch
- 32MHz crystal
Seamless Integration for Modern RF Replacement
The 4108E-S is specifically designed to provide simple and seamless Wi-Fi HaLow connectivity to external host systems – ideal for customers looking to replace their existing RF technology with a modern Wi-Fi HaLow solution. Users also benefit from support for the latest WPA3 security standard. The module supports both the SDIO 2.0-compliant slave interface and SPI mode, as well as a wide range of peripheral interfaces such as I2C, UART, and GPIOs.
