SEVENSTAX's V2G Simulator at an Affordable Price

SEVENSTAX’s V2G simulator complies with DIN 70121 and the ISO/IEC 15118 standard with HomePlug Green Phy powerline communication according to ISO/IEC 15118-3 and with IEC 61851-1 Control Pilot (CP) implementation.

Fuelled by the climate crisis and the US' investment-heavy entry into electric mobility, this market segment is currently arousing great interest.

Demand is also increasing because payment for electric charging at (public) charging stations is finally to be automated and standardized - by means of the so-called "Plug & Charge" extension in the ISO/IEC 15118 standard (abbreviated PnC).

Combined Charging System (CCS)

For this purpose, it is necessary to use the "HomePlug Green Phy (HP GP) Powerline Communication (PLC)", which has already been applied for a long time in the area of DC charging, now also for AC charging - for communication for billing between the electric vehicle and the charging station. This system is called "Combined Charging System" (CCS). More information can be found here.

As a QUALCOMM design partner in Europe in the field of HP GP PLC, CODICO faces a large number of projects and offers a variety of different module and evaluation solutions on both the vehicle and charging station sides.

All projects allow the respective "other side" to be simulated cost-effectively, as both ESVE customers can simulate the electric vehicle and vehicle manufacturers or OBC suppliers can simulate the charging station in communication.

The new WHITE-BEET modules from CODICO/8DEVICES, equipped with SEVENSTAX DIN 70121 and ISO/IEC 15118 software stack, offer excellent conditions for this. They are now also available soldered onto a carrier board - the so-called WHITE-BEET CARRIER BOARD - which has enabled this solution to be further developed into a vehicle-to-grid (V2G) simulator. The software in the WHITE-BEET module was expanded by SEVENSTAX to include a graphical user interface and the necessary applications for a simulation were integrated.

In the first step the new V2G charging station simulator is available in two variants:

The "bundle" offers a significant price advantage, as the GreenShark Message Decoder is offered separately at a much higher price. Further information on the GreenShark Message Decoder can be found here.

In late autumn, corresponding variants for the simulation of an electric vehicle communication will follow.
